2023 International Health and Environment Industry Development Forum & Germany´s Health Capital - Berlin Investment Promotion Seminar Held in Beijing

On September 4, "2023 International Health and Environment Industry Development Forum & Germany´s Health Capital - Berlin Investment Promotion Seminar Held in Beijing", as one of the important international forum activities of 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, was successfully held in the National Convention Center. The forum was organized by the Investment Promotion Bureau (CIPA) of the Ministry of Commerce, IHEIA, the Berlin Business Liaison Office in China (BBDC), and the China Medical and Health Development Fund (CHMDF). The forum was chaired by Liu Junhua, Vice Chair of IHEIA, and was attended by over 120 guests from nearly 50 offline and online organizations including Chinese and foreign government investment promotion agencies, embassies and consulates in China, International business associations, public funds, industrial parks, industrial funds, incubators and accelerators, industry leaders, and scientific and creative enterprises.

In his opening speech, Li Yong, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, said that the life and health industry is a hot spot for global investment, and China's life and health industry has shown strong vitality, ushering in new growth points for international cooperation. As a national investment promotion agency, the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce has always adhered to the original intention of serving enterprises, serving local governments and serving the open economy in the process of implementing the national two-way investment promotion policies of "bringing in" and "going out", and is committed to providing more professional and efficient services for domestic and foreign investment and investors.

Minister Counselor of the German Embassy in China Andrea Junemann , on behalf of the German Embassy in China, highly affirms the organization of this event on the platform of the Service Trade Fair, saying that next year will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the friendship city between Berlin and Beijing, and China and Germany have diverse and powerful close ties in the fields of art and culture, scientific and technological innovation, energy transformation, health care and other fields. Wang Dan, chairman of the China Medical and Health Development Foundation, said that the efforts made by the Chinese and German teams on cross-border exchanges and cooperation in the field of life and health will explore the innovative cooperation model of the "government-association-foundation-enterprise" ecosystem. In order to expand the ability of coordination and cooperation of global health network resources, strengthen the promotion of international exchanges and cooperation, and jointly build the sustainable development of human health community from a global perspective, the Foundation will adopt the Special Fund for Healthy City Promotion and the Special public welfare Fund for medical and health Development research. Actively support the "Green Health Industry International Cooperation Center" to build a cooperation network for the high-quality development of the life and health industry.

China-Europe Qingdao Forum on Sustainable Development and 2022 International Health and Environment Industry Development Forum Held in Beijing

The signing of 5 China-Europe environmental cooperation projects stands as a promising example of China and the EU collaborating on sustainable rural development

BEIJING, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The China-Europe Sustainable Development Qingdao Forum and 2022 International Health and Environment Forum took place at the China National Convention Center in Beijing on September 5. The forum, themed "PROMOTING GREEN COOPERATION FOR A WIN-WIN FUTURE", aims to further deepen the practical collaboration between China and Europe in environment and climate, with a focus on making green cooperation a new engine of a China-Europe comprehensive strategic partnership, while strengthening the exchanges and cooperation between China and Europe as it has to do with green economy and green finance. The forum was co-organized by Qingdao Municipal People's Government, the International Health and Environment Industries Association (IHEIA), Administrative Committee of Qingdao West Coast New Area, and Qingdao Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

China-Europe Environment and Climate Qingdao Forum was announced and scheduled to be held in Qingdao West Coast New Area in 2023 in a hybrid online and in-person format. The planned forum is to serve as a collaborative green economy/green financial platform for the development and implementation of an environmentally-responsible economy supported by a likeminded approach to finance. The event will bring together a group of environment and climate experts and think tanks, and create a China-Europe environment and climate industry cooperation zone. Led by local governments and think tanks, the forum will lend new impetus to the transformation of old growth drivers to new ones, along with industrial restructuring in combination with high-quality and environmentally-responsible social and economic development in the West Coast New Area and the city of Qingdao. The effort promises to transform Qingdao into a model for cooperation and the development of environment- and climate-related industries involving both China and Europe.

In addition, the Green Model of the China-Europe Rural Revitalization Initiative was officially rolled out at the opening ceremony. Built upon the abundant ecological, industrial and cultural resources of Qingdao West Coast New Area, the project will provide a new China-Europe cooperation model for integrating energy transformation, industrial transformation, ecological restoration and green finance, in a move to realize sustainable development in the areas of industry, agriculture, culture, and water utilization, while serving as a demonstration project for the cooperation between China and Europe on green rural revitalization.

At the event, an advisory board for collaboration between China and Europe to develop environment- and climate-related industries was formally established. The board is composed of some of the world's leading academicians and experts in energy, environment, climate and economy. It will provide guidance both on academic research as well as industrial and sustainable development for the China-Europe Environment and Climate Qingdao Forum, the International Sustainable Development Innovation Center and the China-Europe Environment and Climate Industries Cooperation Zone.

During the forum, China and the EU achieved productive cooperation results. Qingdao West Coast New Area initiated environmental cooperation projects with the IHEIA, Chongwa (Macao) Financial Assets Exchange Co., Ltd. and Shandong Future Group Co., Ltd., while the Bank of Qingdao signed a memorandum of cooperation with the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) to jointly promote green and sustainable financial development, giving a strong boost to the city's green economic development. In addition, experts at the conference delivered keynote speeches and attended roundtable dialogues at which they discussed carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, green development, green finance, and China-Europe green industries cooperation.

IHEIA actively responses to international fight against COVID-19

Since the early outbreak of COVID-19, IHEIA together with its founding members have assisted several countries in fighting against COVID-19, mainly by donating personal protective equipment (PPE) and help sourcing medical equipments in urgent need.

IHEIA completed registration in Denmark

International Health and Environment Industry Association (IHEIA) with CVR number: 40970495 in the municipality of København is registered as Association in the records of the Danish Business Authority on December 10th 2019, and that the registration is in accordance with Danish law.

IHEIA held 1st council meeting in 2020

IHEIA held the first council meeting in 2020 via video conference on March 12th.

The first council meeting focused on issues such as the working mechanism of IHEIA, the working mechanism of country representatives, as well as the work summary of IHEIA in 2019 and the work plan in 2020. The council meeting reaffirmed the six service functions and cooperation mechanisms of IHEIA. The first group of IHEIA country representatives were also nominated and approved by the council.

IHEIA visited Zhongguancun Medical Instrument Park

On the morning of September 3, 2019, Mr. Per Steen Boesgaard, Head of the Nordic Region, IHEIA visited the Zhongguancun Medical Instrument Park. The visit was also joined by Mr. Yike Qin, Head of Intl Division, Secretariat of IHEIA.

Per listened to the overall planning and design of the park; learnt about its development process the development status of international accelerator. Per later discussed and exchanged with the General Manager of the park on international organization cooperation and industrial project landing.
